Con esta distinción fue galardonado el viernes 30 de diciembre el Dr. Evan L. Delman, socio del Rotary Club de White Plains de New York y II Jefe del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Greenwinch, Connecticut-USA.

Declaran Huésped de Honor al DR. EVAN L. DELMAN por la gran labor humanitaria al servicio de esta ciudad”. Ese era el tenor de la placa que se le entregó

En el acto desarrollado en la alcaldía estuvo acompañado por delegaciones del Cuerpo de Bomberos y del Club Rotario de este puerto

El Arq. Jorge Ordóñez Uscocovich, Jefe del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Bahía de Caráquez, luego de la ceremonia manifestó lo siguiente para El Nuevo Globo: “Representantes del Cuerpo de Bomberos y del Rotary Club estamos en la visita que hemos hecho al Municipio y al alcalde, Dr. Carlos Mendoza, quienes han tenido el acierto de declarar Huésped de Honor al Dr. Evan L. Delman; como ya es ampliamente conocido, el Dr. Delman viene hasta nosotros con alguna frecuencia desde hace cinco años aproximadamente, y constantemente colabora con la ciudad y con nosotros, al punto que la ambulancia que logró se nos done ya ha sido embarcada, de manera que la recibiremos en unas cuantas semanas. El Dr. Delman ha venido trayendo varios artefactos para el Cuerpo de Bomberos (aire comprimido, uniformes, etc.), habiéndolo declarado nosotros “Bombero Honorario”, como reconocimiento a la gran labor que desarrolla; se trata de un excelente amigo que tenemos en Nueva York, y como él ha dicho, es como una semilla que quiere que crezca. Nos ofrece venir en pocos meses más para hacer la entrega oficial de la ambulancia; será ocasión para que se haga un curso con la finalidad de que se conozca bien sobre el manejo de esa unidad, con la finalidad de poder servir eficientemente a la comunidad.

La nueva donación que ha conseguido para esta ciudad el Dr. Delman constituye la materialización de un proyecto en el que hemos trabajado durante un año; ya la noticia sobre este logro parecía repetitiva, pero está a punto de cumplirse, como he explicado en anteriores ocasiones. Tema importante y que es otro anhelo nuestro, es poder darle fuerza al proyecto que ya está presentado en los ministerios de Bienestar Social y Finanzas para que en el 2006 se conozca acerca de la dotación de una asignación para que se pueda construir el edificio que tanto necesita nuestra institución, porque pacientemente hemos esperado desde el 4 de agosto de 1998, cuando fuera destruido por el terremoto. Les recuerdo que nuestro trabajo es intenso con el auxilio que damos a enfermos y accidentados que llegan no solamente de la ciudad, sino también de la zona norte. Nuestra mayor satisfacción es poder ser útiles también en este aspecto”.

This distinction was awarded on Friday, December 30, 2006, to Dr Evan L. Delman, member of the Rotary Club of White Plains (New York) and Head of the Fire Brigade of Greenwich, Connecticut, USA.

"The Cantonal Government of Sucre and Mayor Dr Carlos Mendoza Rodriguez  declare Guest of Honor to Dr EVAN L. DELMAN for his great humanitarian work to the service of this city." That was the inscription of the plaque that was given to him.

The mayor was accompanied by delegations of the Body of Firemen and the Rotary Club of this city.

The Arq. Jorge Ordoñez Uscocovich, Head of the Body of Firemen of Bay of Caráquez, after the ceremony showed the following for the New Globe: "Representing the Body of Firemen and the Rotary Club we are in, the visit that we have made to the Municipality and the mayor, Dr Carlos Mendoza, that have had the success to declare Guest of Honor to Dr Evan L. Delman; or as it is widely well-known, Dr Delman has been coming here with some frequency for five years approximately, and he has collaborated constantly with the city and with us, to the point that an ambulance was donated to us and has been embarked so that we will receive it in a few weeks. Dr Delman has come bringing several devices for the Body from Firemen (compressed air, uniforms, etc.), declaring us "Honorary Fireman"; like recognition to the great work that he develops; he is an excellent friend that we have in New York, and like him there is saying, is like a seed that wants to grow. He has offered to come in a few months to make the delivery of the ambulance official; it will be an occasion so that a course with the purpose of the handling of that unit, with the purpose of being able to efficiently serve the community.

The new donation that Dr Delman has obtained for this city constitutes the materialization of a project in which we have worked during a year; the news on this profit already seemed repetitive, but it is on the verge of being fulfilled, since I have explained in previous occasions. Important subject and that it is another yearning of ours, is to be able to give force to the project that already is presented/displayed in the ministries of Social welfare and Finances so that in the 2006 it is known about the dowry of an allocation so that the building can be constructed that as much needs our institution, because patiently we have hoped from the 4 of August of 1998, when outside destroyed by the earthquake. Them memory that our work is intense with the aid which we give patients and victims who not only arrive from the city, but also of the North zone. Our greater satisfaction is power to be useful also in this aspect."
