Rotary Club Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

The White Plains Rotary Club is pleased to announce the continuation of its Student Scholarship Program for
students at White Plains High School, Stepinac High School and Good Counsel High School.
Interested students who meet the criteria below are eligible to apply for a scholarship.
Application forms are completed and returned to the designated person at each school by early March of each year.
Interviews are then held in the spring.
The following items need to be submitted by students as part of the application packet. These include:
- a fully completed application form with wallet size photo (or legible photocopy) attached;
- a completed budget sheet, with an updated budget sheet regarding budget status at time of interview;
- an essay, not to exceed one page, on why being a scholarship recipient would be important;
- a summary of extra-curricular activities and community/volunteer activities; and,
- a school transcript of grades received during high school.
To be eligible for consideration by the Rotary Scholarship Committee, a student must have a minimum of
grade point average of 3.0, or 80% over the four year high school period.
By the time of the student interview in the spring, the student will need to provide evidence of acceptance into a college.
An eigible student must be attending a White Plains high school (White Plains, Stepinac, or Good Counsel),
but does not have to be a White Plains resident.
Any student with a close relative who is a member of the White Plains Rotary Club is not eligible for consideration
(close relative: parent, grandparent, uncle/aunt).
