Letter to Rotary International About Speaking Up For Ukraine
Our club believes that R.I. has influence around the world and we urge R.I. to take a courageous stance supporting Ukraine in its defense from Russia’s invasion, and use its voice to encourage countries that have not supported Ukraine to step up and do so.
The members of the Rotary Club of White Plains are proud to be part of an organization
that is dedicated to “Service Above Self” and, in Rotary International’s words, “is a
global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a
world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in
our communities, and in ourselves.” RI also states that members believe that we have a
shared responsibility to take action on our most persistent issues to, among other matters,
promote peace.
