6 scheduled RCWP events found for 2/1/2020 and after... .
Tuesday, February 4, 2020Our speaker from BMW, Bill Friemann, was ill and unable to present electric mobility. Therefore, our meeting had impromptu speakers about Glenn Loucks and the track & field games, followed by Ted Nygreen's 'website minute,' which was a longer tribute to Rotarian George Koplinka and his extensive stamp collection (See club archives on the website or click here: https://rotarywp.org/archives/old.asp).
Tuesday, February 11, 2020Peter Steward recently returned from his Peace Corps assignment in East Timor (aka Timor-Leste or officially the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste). Peter reviewed the Peace Corps and his 27 month assignment, which included (among many other projects) working with the 'chiefs' to help conceptualize and design a youth center equipped with inexpensive Raspberry Pi computers.
Tuesday, February 18, 2020Our regularly scheduled luncheon, Crowne Plaza at 12:15: our speaker is Genevieve Piturro, speaking on the Human Connection. She started a nationwide charity called Find your Pajamas, and is also a coach, and author.
Tuesday, February 25, 2020Our 4th Tuesday evening event will be a bowling social. We will meet at Bowlmor Lanes in White Plains to determine who in our club is the King Pin and Queen Pin. Two hours of bowing including mediocre food and non-alcholic beverages for $45. Twenty members have committed to bowling. Other members have asked if they can attend to cheer us on. Everyone is invited member, family, friends and potential members. Members that have difficulty attending our luncheon meetings should make an extra effort to attend.
Tuesday, March 3, 2020Our regularly scheduled luncheon, Crowne Plaza at 12:15: our speaker is fellow Rotarian Joe Ricca, Superintendent of the White Plains School District.
Tuesday, March 31, 2020John Vorperian is a sports historian and super fan (Red Sox, not Yankees), who has hosted more than 400 cable TV shows interviewing sports personalities. John is also a Westchester County prosecutor by day, a White Plains resident, and former neighbor of Ted Nygreen. You don't even need to be a sports fan to be fascinated by this cultural historian's analysis of our society and the influence of sports.
